Monasteries

At the villages close to our hostel, there are a lot of monasteries and churches which you can visit.

SKITI: 1 km north-west of Skiti, is found the Saints Anargiroi monastery.

ANATOLI: The monastery of Timios Prodromos that was founded in 1550 by Damianos Myrichovitis and the monastery of Virgin Mary. Our Hostel can arrange your visit to the monastery of Timios Prodromos. You will find warm hospitality from the nuns. Buy biological meat, cheese and aromatic herbs.
On 29 August takes place the “feast of seeds” with biological farmers from all over Greece.

MELIVIA: Interesting are the Byzantines and the new churches of ‘’Koimisis of Virgin Mary’’ (1800), Saint Paraskeui, Prophet Ilias, Saint Kuriaki and Saint Thomas. The village organises a festival on 8/5, 30/6 as well as on Saints Thomas day.

VELIKA: The Holy Abbey of Saint Ioannis the Theologian, the churches of Virgin Mary (12th - 13th century), Saints  Apostoloi and  Timios Prodromos.
